2SC1972 Transistor Explained / Description
2SC1971 is a high power RF transistor that can be used as a RF oscillator and RF amplifier in wide variety of RF applications under 175MHz. The max output power this transistor is capable to provide is 7 Watts and it can easily be used in 4 to 5 watts output applications. The max collector dissipation of the transistor is 12.5 watts and the max DC current gain is 10-180. The transistor can not only used for RF applications but it can also be used as a switch and it can drive load of upto 2A with 2A output current it can drive many types of high power relays, transistors, LEDs etc.
Where We Can Use it & How to Use
2SC1971 transistor can be used in wide variety of radio and RF applications such as RF amplifiers, RF oscillator, wireless data transmission, TV sets etc. Other than that it can also be used in verity of general switching applications that falls under its ratings.
Applications
RF Amplifier Circuits
Radios Circuits
RF Oscillator Circuits
TV Sets
Switching loads under 2000mA.
How to Get Long Term Performance in a Circuit
For long term performance it is suggested to use any component atleast 20% below from its maximum ratings, and same goes with 2SC1971, the maximum collector current of the transistor is 2A therefore do not drive load of more than 1.6A, the max collector to emitter voltage is 17V therefore do not drive load of more than 13.6V. Do not drive output power of more than 5 watts, use a proper heatsink with the transistor and always store or use this transistor in temperature above -55 degree Celsius and below +150 degree Celsius.
