2SC5198 Transistor Explained / Description:
2SA1941 is a TO-3P package PNP transistor, it is primarily built for high power audio amplification purposes and is mostly used with its NPN complementary transistor 2SC5198 to build small and big high power audio amplifiers. The transistor works well on the complete range of audio frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz due to which it provides quite good results when used as an audio amplifier, it provides same sound quality at the output with added amplification.
The max collector to emitter voltage is -140V, max collector current is -10A, max power dissipation is 100W. The typical collector-emitter saturation voltage is 0.8V. To drive 5A load the required base current should be 0.5A or 500mA. The transistor’s collector current is -10A, this also makes it ideal to use for switching purposes.
Where We Can Use it & How to Use:
As mentioned above this transistor is mainly built for audio amplification purposes therefore it can be used in variety of different high power and small power audio amplifier’s final stages.
The -10A collector current also makes it ideal to use it for variety of other purposes such as switching.
Applications:
Audio Amplifier Stages
Switching load of up to -10A
High voltage applications (Up to 140V)
How to Safely Long Run in a Circuit:
For long-life performance operate 2SA1941 transistor 20% below from its absolute max ratings. Therefore do not drive load of more than -8A and the load voltage should be under 112V. A suitable heat sink is essential to use with the transistor and always store and operate this transistor in temperature above -55 degrees centigrade and below +150 degrees centigrade.
