BF199 Transistor Explained / Description:
BF199 is an NPN transistor designed for RF applications such as radio frequency amplifiers and IF amplifiers for videos. The pin configuration of the transistor is as follow: The first pin is “Collector”, second pin is “Emitter”, and the third pin is “Base”. The VCEO or maximum collector to emitter voltage of the transistor is 25V. The maximum collector current is 50mA, the maximum power dissipation is 350mW and the maximum Transition frequency can be from 400MHz to 1100MHz.
BF199 transistor is manufactured by many different manufacturers and you will find slight difference in the transistors of each manufacturer. The transition frequency of some transistors by some manufacturers is 550MHz, some have 750MHz and some have 11000MHz. Similarly BF199 manufactured by different manufacturers also has different power dissipation and collector current so it is important to check the data sheet of this transistor from the manufacturer or from the supplier you are buying.

For safe operating this transistor use it 20% below from its max ratings. The maximum collector current is 50mA therefore do not drive load of more than 40mA. The maximum collector to emitter voltage is 25V so do not drive load of more than 20V and always store or operate the transistor in temperature above -55°C and below +150 °C.
