BD433 Transistor Explained / Description:
BD433 is a medium power transistor available in TO-126 package. It is a transistor of BD4XX series. There are also other transistors in this series such as BD435 and BD437. The transistor is designed to be used in switching and medium power linear applications such as audio amplifier applications.
Looking at the absolute maximum ratings of the transistor the max collector current is 4A, maximum collector-emitter voltage is 22V, maximum collector-base voltage is also 22V, maximum emitter-base voltage is 5V, maximum base current is 1A, maximum collector dissipation is 36W and max storage and operating temperature is -65°C to 150°C.
As mentioned above the transistor is designed to be used in applications such as switch and medium power linear but can also be used in wide variety of application which we will discuss later in this article.

Here are the safe operating guidelines of the transistor.
- Do not use the transistor at its absolute maximum ratings and always stay 20% below from its max ratings.
- The max collector current is 4A therefore do not drive load of more than 3.2A.
- The maximum collector current is 4A so the derived load should be under 3.2A.
- Moreover, the temperature should be maintained between -55°C to 150°C.
