BD435 Transistor Explained / Description:
BD435 is an another transistor from BD4XX series which also contains other transistors such as BD433, BD437, BD439, BD441. Like the other transistors of the series, BD435 is also designed to use in switching and amplifier applications. Looking at the transistor physically it has TO-126 package and the pin configuration are the first pin is Emitter, second is Collector and the third one is Base.
Now looking at the absolute maximum ratings of the transistor the maximum collector-emitter voltage is 32V,max collector current is 4A, max collector-base voltage is also 32V, max emitter-base voltage is 5V, max base current is 1A and maximum collector dissipation is 36W.
The electrical characteristics of the transistor is also very interesting some of its electrical characteristics are transition frequency is 3MHz, base-emitter ON is 1.1V and DC Current gain is 40 to 130.
Where We Can Use it & How to Use:
This transistor can be used in many applications such as automotive, controller, driver, amplifier, different types of switching etc. A detailed list of its applications can be found below.
The using procedure of the transistor is similar to any other BJT transistor we use.
Applications:
Inverter Circuits
PWM controllers
Switching Circuits
LED Drivers
Motor Drivers
Temperature Control Circuits
Audio Amplifiers
Relay drivers circuits
Battery Chargers
Solar Circuits
Variety of General Purpose Applications
Safe Operating Guidelines:
Here are the safe operating guidelines for the transistor.
- One of the most important guideline for any electronic component is to not use it to its absolute maximum ratings and always stay at least 20% below from the max its absolute maximum ratings.
- The maximum collector current is 4A so always stay under 3.2A.
- The max collector current is 4A the derived load should no be more than 3.2A.
- The overall temperature of the transistor from inside and outside should be between -55°C to 150°C.
